Emily Hives

Emily has a broad practice in civil and regulatory litigation with an interest in employment law. A staunch advocate for her clients, Emily is always prepared and ensures that her Ts are crossed and her Is are dotted. Our clients tell us that Emily knows how to listen, a skill that she honed as a student caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services and a summer student at a mid-sized Toronto law firm. A stellar legal researcher and writer, Emily practiced her craft during a year-long judicial clerkship with the judges of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. This experience gave Emily a unique insight into judicial decision-making and the litigation process. A critical thinker with an excellent work ethic, Emily graduated from law school in the top 4% of her class. Bright? Definitely. Hard-working? You bet. Emily is also endlessly creative and uses this ingenuity to help resolve clients’ legal issues. A voracious reader and writer in her spare time, Emily is also always open to trying new things; whether surfing in Maine or scarfing down stroopwafels in Amsterdam, she is always ready for a new adventure.
