Like most of you, Ricketts Harris is deeply concerned about an unfortunate reality that seems to be reshaping the social landscape: the decline of Thoughtful Communication. Between texting, tweeting, emoticons, and emailing, young people are quickly losing the ability to convey subtle nuances, read changes in tone, or express themselves clearly and persuasively. The Ricketts Harris Thoughtcom Project supports meaningful initiatives and dialogue that teach young people the secrets of great communicators, how to effectively craft messaging for different platforms (phone, text, Twitter, Skype, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook), discuss without disparagement, deliver their points convincingly but respectfully, and construct scenarios where everyone feels valued and heard.
