Michael Foulds

Partner

We find it hard to believe that this fresh-faced advocate has practiced for over 20 years, though he has the chops to prove it. Michael’s practice is focused on insurance and tort related matters, where he has proven success in bringing difficult and complex cases to resolution with tough, well-reasoned positions. It doesn’t hurt that Michael is also an editor-in-chief of Watson & McGowan, Ontario Civil Practice, giving him an in-depth knowledge of civil procedure, which he strategically deploys to his clients’ advantage. While he focuses on the details, he is also able to see the forest (perhaps because of his northern Ontario roots). Michael’s practical and pragmatic approach to litigation helps him to achieve results that best meet his clients’ needs. A great listener, his effortless rapport with clients and colleagues makes Michael not only a highly effective litigator but someone you’d like to share a nice bottle of red with. We also hear he’s adept with a chainsaw (but he doesn’t mix those two activities!). A dedicated parent, Michael spends his weekends at local rinks supporting his daughter’s hockey or hamming it up with his son in adapted sports at Holland Bloorview and Variety Village. He also gives back as a Board Member of March of Dimes, and otherwise supports services that promote well-being and access for people with disabilities. Thoughtful in, and out, of practice; he’s our kind of guy.
